Projects

I made this bathing suit cover-up.

I entered that cover and a few other things to the SoCal Fair.
I am a little sad that it says "Senior Citizen".
I am not there yet! still like 18 years to go or so..
Anyway, wish me luck!
See my cover-up is on the mannequin in the back, being carried around. :P

I started this, I am planning a sweater.
This is my first knitted piece with alternating colors.  And they are integrated!!
Thanks to hubby for bribing me with yarn money.
This looks like Vanilla-raspberry ice cream.
Took me an hour in the store to make up my mind on the colors and yarn.

My first sweater

I ventured out and made this sweater.  My very first!!
It was scary, but I made it.

I used the Russian stitch on it.  Teal and purple yarn.  The body was the Russian stitch, the sleeves were crochet.  The hood was knitted as well.  I had to unravel it 3 times and start over.

I just turned it last weekend for the So Cal fair along with other things I made.  Hope to earn a ribbon; at least it will be out there for people to see.  That's exciting as it is.

Greenie from Wooly Rhinoceros yarn

Just started this, my plan is a little vest.  The first time I made one (which I want to replicate) was when I was 13.  I made a little vest, with delicate fluffy yarn in tones of brown and tan, for my baby niece.  She was a year and a half, maybe 2 by then.  She was so cute in it.  I had a lot of help from one of my aunts.  She was so sweet, and helped me with the hard parts.  Well, I am going to try another vest.  That one was knitted, this one will be crocheted.  I bought this yarn from the Wooly Rhinoceros years ago.  Maybe 2010?  I have been so afraid to use it and ruin it.  But I will try to make a little vest.  This yarn was mailed from Israel, and was made in individual hand dyed/ hand spun yarn.  So there will be no more if I run out of this ball of yarn I have.  Wish me luck!  here we go.

Stars.

I found this at Crochet Crowd.  I saw a picture of one and fell in love.  I wanted so badly to make stars, so I did.
I made the pink tones one for my friend Cindy, and it came out ok.  After rinsing and fluff dry, it came out soft, and wonderful to snuggle in.

The second try was with leftover greens..  This one I want to keep for us at home.  I also want to enter it in the Fair this coming Fall.  I didn't get anything done last year.  I am looking forward to it this time around.

Here is the tutorial, it is easy to follow, loved it!

California fair

I presented two of my blankets for the California Fair, as planned.

One got First place and one, second place.  The one that got second place was a gift for my friend's daughter Liliana.

These are my kittens, trying to help..

Deep blue

This is a blanket I made for Daniel last year.  It is a slanted half shell.  Oh and that is Ruth waiting to be let on it, guess she liked it.

I am back!

Holy cows sheep and horses.  I was finally able to log in after years of trying.
I made more blankeys and couldn't share.  I felt awful  Well..  I am back and here are the two little afghans I am taking to the California Fair tomorrow.  One is For Peggy and Ray's LillyAnna; I told her she will have it after the fair.
I hope to get at least some recognition for it so she can be more excited.

This one is mine.
Yes I made one for me finally!
In cream and raspberry chocolate ice cream colors.

This one is for LillyAnna.  Looks like cherry chip ice cream!
